Ataxy that is the alter ego of Hamburg-based and raised producer David Eßer, has been producing different varieties of electronic music for over a decade now.

Getting absorbed into a pleasant carpet of sound and traveling through his music are two of his conceptual cornerstones. Stretched keynotes seeming to get lost in infinity only cut trough by sharp and rather cold tones creating a complex and dynamic depth of sound.

In a metaphorical sense, he wants you to travel through his music reflecting on yourself. It's not about creating something wholly new, it's about giving every listener the chance to see her or his own picture of the music.

"The album "The Other Home" was created in several periods. It all started in 2017 with a Roland Juno 106 and a Korg Ms 20. At that time I was just starting to work out my own style in the Ambient genre.

Today I work almost exclusively digitally except for field recordings. In 2018 the tracks with Agus (Warmth) were added, which we produced together in an online exchange. The remaining tracks were then created. "The Other Home" is the attempt to give an all-encompassing picture of my idea of the cosmos and the earth.

The aim is to focus on the so-called "emptiness" in the room. In Track Vacuum I specifically approached this topic. But it's also about imagining the differentials of other planetoids in my musical expression and personifying these ideas.

The idea that music is not possible without oxygen made me wonder how music might sound in other places in the universe, if it were possible.

I tried not to ignore nature here on the planet. The eternal accompanying motif of my work is the expanding universe and its "dark matter" which, as it seems, can soon be scientifically described. But I also think that art and music have the ability to present an alternative way of looking at cosmology and science.

We do not have that knowledge about why the universe is the way it is. We can only interpret it and so we only have the option of imagination."
